Admission at St. Peters University

St. Peters University offers multiple avenues for admission into our degree programs. These include the Direct Entry Scheme, the Diploma Holders Entry Scheme, and the Mature Age Entry Scheme. All pathways adhere to the guidelines set by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).

Direct Entry Scheme

Applicants eligible for the Direct Entry Scheme must meet the following requirements:

  • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE): At least 5 passes obtained in one sitting or its equivalent.
  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE): At least 2 principal passes obtained in one sitting or its equivalent.
Diploma Holders Entry Scheme

Diploma holders must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Relevant Diploma: Hold a Credit or Second-Class Diploma in the relevant field from a recognized institution, as approved by the University Senate.
  • Mature Entry Examinations: Achieve at least a Pass (50%) in the Mature Entry Examinations.
Mature Age Entry Scheme

To apply under the Mature Age Entry Scheme, applicants must:

  • Age Requirement: Be at least 25 years old.
  • Examinations: Have passed the mature age entry examinations conducted by the National Council for Higher Education.
Other Considerations

In addition to the primary entry schemes, the following qualifications are also recognized:

  • Post-UCE Certificate: A certificate obtained after 2 years of post-UCE study.
  • Equivalent Qualifications: Any qualifications that are equivalent to UCE and UACE, subject to approval by the University Senate.
