The Directorate of Quality Assurance at St. Peter’s University is tasked with ensuring that the institution maintains the highest standards in education and operations. This office plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing quality assurance frameworks, aligning the University’s programs with national, regional, and international criteria. By overseeing the accreditation processes and quality standards, the Directorate ensures that the University’s academic and administrative functions meet the rigorous requirements set by governing bodies, thereby safeguarding the institution’s reputation for excellence.

Role & Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Framework Development
Dr. Ngiri Andrew is responsible for developing and reviewing the University’s quality assurance framework, plans, tools, and strategies. These frameworks are subject to approval by the University Council or other relevant decision-making bodies, ensuring they align with the institution’s goals and standards.
Policy Implementation & Compliance
The Directorate oversees the University’s compliance with Council policies, quality standards, and requirements set by the Sector Ministry, the National Council for Higher Education, and other quality assurance bodies. The office plays a crucial role in ensuring that the University’s teaching, learning, research, and community outreach programs meet these stringent standards.
Support & Supervision
Providing technical and professional support to various academic and administrative units, the Directorate assists in implementing and enhancing quality assurance systems across the University. The office also supervises Quality Assurance teams, overseeing their activities to ensure that quality enhancement initiatives are effectively carried out.
Continuous Improvement & Audits
Dr. Ngiri Andrew leads the planning and continual improvement of the University’s quality management systems, ensuring conformity with universally accepted standards. The Directorate evaluates quality assurance reports from different units and coordinates audits and assessments conducted by external advisors and accreditation bodies.
Training & Communication
The Directorate is also responsible for sensitizing, educating, and training staff and stakeholders on Quality Management Systems. Regular reports on quality assurance audits are prepared and submitted to the Vice Chancellor, and the office communicates targets, shortfalls, and remedial measures to ensure continuous quality improvement.
