The Office of the Human Resource Manager is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Dorothy Businge Kakongoro Kabugo as the new Vice Chancellor of St. Peter’s University, effective 1st September 2024.
With an extensive background in academic leadership and administration, Dr. Dorothy is poised to drive our institution towards greater heights of academic excellence and community engagement. Her remarkable tenure at Great Lakes Regional University (GLRU) and Nkumba University (NU) showcases her dedication to enhancing educational frameworks and student success.
Dr. Dorothy is not only an accomplished academic leader but also a devoted mother and wife. Her impressive qualifications include:
- PhD in Education Management (Nkumba University, 2023)
- Master’s in Education Planning and Management (Nkumba University, 2007)
- Master’s in Women Studies (Makerere University, 1998)
- PGD in Public Administration (Uganda Management Institute, 1991)
- Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Social Administration (Makerere University, 1986)
Throughout her career, Dr. Dorothy has made significant contributions, including:
- Spearheading the application process for a Charter at GLRU.
- Preparing key policy documents for University Council discussions.
- Overseeing student academic matters, including enrollment and examination management.
- Leading the review of undergraduate academic programs.
- Chairing various university committees and strategic meetings.
